Hello!! Welcome!! I am Herman. I am a 7 year young Chinese Crested living in Ontario, Canada. For the past 6 years I have been extremely busy as CEO of Tootlewear Dog Apparel. Not a bad gig for someone who started life in pretty rough circumstances. Now that I have reached middle age my human and I are slowing things down and are taking on an new adventure; life itself. We created this blog to chronicle my adventures and to showcase different products, services, concepts etc. I have lots of ideas; a Pet Store comparison ; dog food comparison, dog friendly camping spots the list goes on. Of course if any of our gentle readers have suggestions, we would love to hear.
So background. I was an only child for 5 years; well not a true only child; I have 2 half brothers : Odie a shi-puff - which is a cross between a shitzu and a Chinese Crested Powder Puff- and Dominck a Shetland Sheepdog, but they are not my human's; meaning I do not have to share my toys, cuddle time or bed with them. Then one day things changed........
My human heard about a little Crested who was in trouble. She had been rescued from a puppy mill and the rescue was looking for a very special family to be her forever home. Because she had lived in a basement in a crate her entire life, she didn't know how to act around humans and she didn't understand this great big world.
Chinese Cresteds are a funny lot; we have a unique outlook on the world. When we are babies we need to be exposed to lots and lots of different things; if we miss out on that then we sort of close out the world and its difficult to break through our shell. So this girl had some pretty big behavioral issues that was preventing anyone from adopting her.
My human has quite a bit of experience with dogs. Long before me; she had a Canadian Kennel Club sanctioned kennel; breeding and competing with rough collies. And in those years she got to work with and meet lots of other breeds. So my human contacted the rescue and to make a long story short I got a sister.

Well...thank you Herman; for that wonderful introduction that makes me sound just a little unhinged. Yes, I do have some issues trusting people and yes, I do get nervous in new situations; but can you blame me? I am working really hard to get through these issues and everyone says I am a 100% better than where I started; plus its not like you are the poster child for normal....
My name is Betty. My human named me for an amazing human lady who does so much for animal rescue; and I hear she is a pretty good actress too; Ms. Betty White.
I have a spunky sassy attitude which has earned me the nickname Sass.. better than someone else's nickname - "cough - Toot - cough"; not pointing any paws Herman!
Since coming to live with my brother, my 2 half brothers, and my humans, I have done many amazing things, traveled to very interesting spots and met some really cool people. I also have a pretty fantastic wardrobe thanks to my human's former business. Herman got to be a big part of that business and I am really excited to be involved in this new adventure.
